Newsletter Week 14

Hey!
So this was another awesome week with a ton of meetings! :)
Last Monday we played soccer out in the field in front of our apartment and we met some way cool guys from Jamaica! So that was way awesome and they said they are going to come play with us today too:) So I'm pretty excited for that:)
Then this week we had a special Spanish missionary conference and we were taught about the importance of family history, and how much our ancestors and our prosperity are intertwined. It was really awesome and I had never thought of it like that before, when we do work for our ancestors they become the guardian angles for our prosperity. Isn't that just the coolest thing ever! Family history is awesome!
Then we had another special training with President Mortensen and then we all had interviews with him. He is so awesome and has such an awesome spirit to him!
So this week I got asked to give a 10 minute talk in sacrament meeting.. I was pretty nervous. But i gave it about how the Book of Mormon has been such a huge influence in my life:) haha It's awesome when you have such a little branch, because this week I was the chorister... (I really wish i would have learned how to lead music BEFORE my mission.. but oh well I'm learning on the job) and I also gave a talk. :) So my Spanish is coming along :) but I had one of our investigators help me translate my talk into Spanish:) so that was awesome! Her name is Coral and she is the Bomb.com :)
So things are great here in Waller, I love it here :) I am so blessed and so glad that I chose to come out on a mission. It has changed my life so much, I have such a better sense about who I am, and what my purpose is. I am grateful for this Gospel and the blessing it is in my life:) Thank you all for your love and support in my mission. You are the best! :)

Newsletter Week 13

Hey!!

This week was such a huge week full of so many miracles!

So first off I got transferred to Waller, which is a super cute tiny little town. It reminds me a lot of my home town West Weber, the town is so small that you say hi to everyone you drive by.. there are tons of cows and a lot of good ol' Texan cowboys. :) The true blue right here:) The people are so awesome and so humble here! :) I really love it.

We have a little branch and a good handful of members:) There is not a lot of members.. but we have quality members.. they are willing to help and love to support the missionaries. When I got there on sunday they all just seemed so excited to see a new face. They came up and all kissed my cheek with a huge smile and a "Mucho Gusto" :) Super awesome people!

My new companion is Sister Coley! She has been here in this area for about 6 months! so she knows it well and has an awesome relationship with all the members! :) She loves to work and get things done.. so we get a long great! :)

Tiffany and Sister Coley

This Sunday we had a mission president fireside aimed towards investigators. It was so awesome and the spirit was there so strong! all the Spanish missionaries were there and we acted as the choir singing beautiful songs in Spanish! I love the Spanish language! It is so beautiful and brings the spirit so strongly! :)

Well thank you all for all of your support! You all mean so much to me and I love you tons! :) keep up the good work! :)

Newsletter Week 12

Well super short newsletter today, cuz I don't have much time.
This week has been good:) I have been studying Charity and Christ like love:) and there is so much we can learn from our Savior and the way he loved people:)
I went on exchanges with Sister Coley this week and we went up to Waller, This area is like super in the country and just my kind of place!! :) I loved it! :)
This week during church we learned about temples. And he did a super cool comparison. He said: If you want to get to know someone where do you go? You go to there house, you talk to them and learn more about them. It is the same with our Heavenly Father, if we want to get to know Him and learn more about him we should go to his house, the Temple and study him and learn how he feels."
I loved that!! :) I hope the temple is a priority for everyone and we make it a goal to visit often!
Well I love you guys and hope you are all having a great week!

Hey, So I actually am getting transferred tomorrow! So don't send any letters or packages to this address. I will tell you my new address a soon as possible:) Thank you for all your love and support! Love you so much! Sister Diaz said she will give me all the letters that you have already sent that come this address. Thank you love ya!

Newsletter Week 11

Hey guys!

So this week was pretty great:)
I went on exchanges with Sister Willard and Sister Faga this week! And they are just the most awesome people ever! We taught the Word of Wisdom to Roland and he took it so well!! He said it was awesome that God has given us these laws and committed to stop drinking!! He is so cool!! He was like excited to receive this revelation from God! :) He is so ready for this Gospel.

I hope you all had such a great new years!! I was talking to Sister Willard and she was sharing with me how on Christmas everyones thoughts are turned to Christ, and then at New Years we set new goals, and how it is interesting how before we set goals we should strive to be more like Christ and turn our thoughts to him. So I hope we can all set great goals with Christ in mind. :)

So Friday I had my first Zone Meeting.. I was pretty great! We learned about Matthew 14:14-31 and how we can apply this scripture to ourselves. It is the story about Peter walking on water, you should all go read it.. but anyways. It was explained that the boat that Peter is in is our comfort zone, and the way to get closer to Christ sometimes is to leave our comfort zone and walk on water. Because Peter wanted to walk on the water to get closer to Christ. And he took the big important step of faith to walk on the water, but then it said he noticed the strong winds and got scared and started to sink, and this is compared to us loosing our focus on Christ and focusing on the fears of the world. Maybe we are afraid to go to church, because we haven't gone in a long time and are afraid people will judge us, but that isn't focusing on Christ, we just as Peter are focusing on the things that scare us, instead of the main goal, there are tons of examples and ways to apply this to ourselves, so what are you afraid of? What is keeping you away from getting closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. This are the things, like Peter that are making us sink. But then the story goes on with Peter asking for the Lords help, and the Lord immediately stretched forth his hand and helped him, the Lord will do the same for us, we just have to ask him for help.

And then the last part I thought was super cool was Peter walked to Jesus on the water from the boat, and he had difficulties and sunk in the water. But then him and Christ walked back to the boat without any sinking. Once we have Christ, we can do those hard things.

Well that was the cool story of the week.. haha I am loving my mission and learning so many cool thing!! I hope you are all having a great week and love you guys!
